So, I got my dissertation in on time! It wasn't quite the OMG MOMENTOUS OCCASION that I was expecting, although I was kind of ridiculously pleased by how shiny it looked once it was bound. TOO BAD IT SUCKS. I've pretty much resigned myself to getting a 2.1 at this point (she says, like that's some terrible mark) but whatevs. One more essay and then I'm done!

... and then I can move on to worrying about fic instead. I'm getting a bit stressed about

thelittlebang already, and weirdly nervous about the fact that some unknown person has my terrible first draft RIGHT NOW and has to try and make ART for it. :/ I blame this fandomsecret.

In other news, I don't even care about Doctor Who and haven't watched it in ages, but the new companion is pretty! I approve. [/shallow]

That fandomsecret pretty much embodies the fears and panic of every big bang writer who does not have an ego the size of Texas. I signed up as an artist for tlb the other day, though, so I'll get to be on the other side of the fence, too, freaking out about whether my assigned author (when I get one, because I haven't yet got an assignment) really likes my art or is secretly embarrassed to be seen with it in public.

And I agree about the new companion.

LOL, yeah. What's weird is that I hadn't even thought about the art until that secret popped up, and then I was all "...OH SHIT." There's so much potential for stress and awkwardness and embarrassment on both sides, because there's no guarantee of quality and the fic and art basically have to be LINKED TOGETHER FOREVER.

I just peeked at your signup and saw you signed up for Skins, so you might actually get my fic! SORRY IN ADVANCE.

Well, I've read bits of it that definitely don't suck, and, oh right, YOU'RE INCAPABLE OF WRITING ANYTHING BAD. And, um, you haven't read my story yet because the thought of you reading it makes me want to CURL UP IN A BALL AND DIE, but I'll get over that and send it to you sometime after Tuesday (which is when I'm done with uni and can officially start concentrating on tlb again).

Dude, I've been wanting to read FFD for the LONGEST TIME but I promised myself I wouldn't until I've finished all my uni work. And it's not like I will have anything REMOTELY USEFUL to say anyway, apart from random flailing and keymashes and "SHUT UP, JEN, THIS IS TOTALLY NOT BORING".
