Ugh.

Yeah, I got a 2.1.

:(

(I know there's nothing wrong with a 2.1, I'm just angry at myself because I know I could've done better.)

Hey, a 2.1 is awesome! I got a 2.1! :P no, you should def be happy with that. I mean I GET being annoyed you didn't get a first, especially thinking 'but if I'd really worked HARD!', but who knows - maybe you would have had to work INCREDIBLY hard and sacrificed any leisure time, etc. I say well done :D

No, but - I've got firsts in essays before, but this last term I really DIDN'T work hard. Like, at all. (Srsly, all the time I should've spent writing my dissertation - which I did so unbelievably badly in I don't even want to tell anyone my mark - I spent writing fucking FANFICTION, because I'm an idiot.)

But, uh, thanks! I'll try and be happy about it but it might take a while.

So did we, darling. So did we. lol ♥

Sigh. Why must real life get in the way of fandom?

I get why it might be annoying, if you've been getting consistent firsts throughout the year, but you really can't beat yourself up over a 2:1 - it's a bloody good mark, and at the end of the day? You've got a degree. That's all anyone's really going to be looking into.

Well done!

Cheerio, Michael. xxx

I'm with Michael - I don't think anyone's ever asked me what sort of degree I've got, just whether I've got one. A 2:1 is still an excellent result, so congrats!

Aw, honey. I understand - you know I understand. I hope that this feeling passes and you start to feel good about your achievement, which is fantastic in its own right.

(Also, and this is the gospel truth, nobody has ever given a shit what classification I got in my degree. But I understand completely that doesn't help all that much right now. But hopefully it will in time.)

Much much love xxxxx

I got a 2.1 as well, and I can sympathise with you finding it hard to be enthusiastic about it. I didn't get 1sts in any essays that counted, so I knew I'd get a 2.1 all along, but it's hard getting only the 2nd best mark when you're used to getting As. All my relatives have been really congratulatory about it, but I'm kind of embarrassed to accept their congratulations cos getting a 2.1 was really easy, so I don't feel I've achieved anything. At least we didn't work ourselves up into a frenzy trying to get a 1st only to not get one, that would have been worse.
