(no subject)

- I keep getting the urge to go and see this, which is stupid because, um, I don't know anything about/like opera. But it's Rufus, so I kind of want to see it anyway. Actually, I'm also selfishly pleased that his opera is finally done because now it means he can hurry up and write another album. :D I mean, it's been TWO YEARS since Release The Stars and I'm starving for more Rufus music; I think the last new song of his that I heard was Albatross a couple of months ago. (And, OMG, everyone should download that song right the fuck now; it's amazing.)

- You know when you read fic that's so amazing it just makes you want to throw your hands up and go, "WHY BOTHER?" Yeah. Stop being so talented, Skins fandom, you're making me hate myself!

- Randomly, the other day I decided that the BEST THING EVER would be Meg Prescott on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, but then I found out that Simon Amstell quit as the host. (What? The times, I am behind them.) And now I'm unreasonably sad that this is never going to happen, even though it WASN'T GOING TO IN THE FIRST PLACE, because OMG, it would have been comedy GOLD.

Thank you for the song! <3 It's been too long since I've heard any new Rufus ;__;

I'm a casual opera fan at most, but I'm almost certain his will be BRILLIANT - I mean bias aside, I always thought his pop songs were halfway operatic anyway. And yes, he needs to be making another album soon! Uhm, hopefully something more poppy and less string-section-y (iz totally a word).

You're welcome! It's become one of my favourites of his (...which I feel a bit weirdly guilty about, because it's a cover).

I should probably actually give some opera a proper try before saying that I don't like it, because I've always loved the operatic qualities of Rufus's music. I doubt I'll actually go and see Prima Donna but I'd love to hear it at least.

I kind of want Rufus to make the album that he said he was going to make, the really stripped-down one (which he tried to make last time, and then it turned into Release The Stars, ha), because I love songs that are just Rufus + piano, but I'd love something poppier too. Actually I'd like him to work with Marius de Vries again because the Wants are amazing.

I was so bummed when he broke ties with the Met because I would have loved to see it. ;_; Ah well, hopefully it'll make rounds in the States eventually.

Ohh, I did not know this! But yes, just him and the piano would be awesomely refreshing. Or like, a jazz trio type thing.

I fail so hard. I kept thinking Rufus...Humphrey? and I don't think it's the first time I've made this mistake on your LJ but, clearly, some of just don't learn and then try to make Rufus Humphrey + opera happen. It's not going to happen, Mary.

(Then again, it did on the show... No. Stop.)

lollll Well, clearly it's an easy mistake to make! I mean, it's TOTALLY PLAUSIBLE that a) Rufus Humphrey would have written an opera, and b) I'd want to see it.

I would go see Prima Donna if it comes to London. I think if it is a success up in Manx it quite probs will. That documentary - I only saw part of it, he is looking pretty rough but the work sounds good, and as a person who appreciates opera, I'm excited to hear it. Not sure about that new 'Zebedon' song of his, though. It's been ages since I listened to any Rufus - and all those clips of the various tours made me feel all funny, because I was at every single one of them!!!

I haven't heard anything about a documentary?? Clearly I'm a bit out of the loop!
