Oh man, I don't even have the mental energy to think about the Skins movie. I'll watch it, obviously, but right now I have more hope that the American version of Skins will turn out well, and that says it all.
Eep, The Fic That Must Not Be Named! I'm in this place where I think it's the worst, most embarrassingly awful thing ever, and I'm not sure how to get out of it. Not to mention that series four royally fucked up my Effy characterisation.
You're going to be so disappointed when I tell you about my job! I love it, but it's really not the sort of thing that anyone else would be that impressed by. Uh, I work for a disability organisation - not the sort that provides services for disabled people, but we campaign for disabled people's rights (so my boss is frequently down in London talking to MPs and stuff like that). My actual work isn't exactly thrill-a-minute but I love it because a) I work with an awesome bunch of people, and b) I'm learning a huge amount about an area of equality that I basically knew NOTHING about before. And, not to sound all cheesy, but it's making me a better person.
When it comes to Cameron - you're right, as conservatives go he's not that bad, and I'm hugely grateful that I live in a country where getting a conservative government wouldn't mean that some of my basic rights are under threat. But while I'm sure he wouldn't repeal any of Labour's gay rights legislation, I don't for a minute believe he would have pursued any of it himself, and Wikipedia has just informed me that he was initially against scrapping Section 28. So that makes me dislike him even more. The thing is, while our conservatives aren't as bad as some country's conservatives, they're still a lot worse than our other parties (other than, you know, UKIP and the BNP). They still care about rich white men more than anyone else.
Honestly, I have no clue what's going to happen with the election. I'm starting to think that a hung parliament is the most likely outcome, but who knows.
Doctor Who is one of the few shows that I actually watch on a proper telly as it airs! I know of an LJ community that has downloads, but it's one of those places that only accepts fairly active LJers as members and I'm not sure you'd qualify. :/ You could try torrents?
