LOL, The X Factor is such a fucking farce. That entire elimination was scripted, y/y? *eyeroll* THIS SHOW. The thing is, I wouldn't mind the fuckery quite so much if it weren't so fucking PREDICTABLE.

In other news, I've... kind of given up on NaNo. IDK, it feels weird to give up on it after having done it for so long, but I guess I just wasn't feeling it this year. The main problem is that I really like my idea and want to write it well, and I know that if I write it for NaNo I'll just end up hating it and never wanting to look at it again, so it'd just be a waste.

UGH WORK TOMORROW. :(

What was your idea for NaNo, out of curiosity? And I haven't been doing NaNo so much as going 'oh my god it's been six days and I haven't written anything!' Cue then two days of writing non-stop to keep up.

It was a YA dystopia thing. I'm still hopeful that I'll write it one day, so I'm not going into any more detail than that. ;)

How many words are you at?

Oh, sounds awesome, bb. Good luck for whenever you start it! :]

I'm at 10,791 words right now, mostly because I worked all day Saturday and part of today. I still need to write more tonight too. But I'm having a ridiculously good time writing! Even if it IS just fanfiction ...

Thanks! God knows if when I'll ever get round to it...

No shame in writing fanfic for NaNo! I really enjoyed doing that last year. Glad you're having fun with it! :D

Well, I've written fic all the other times for NaNo, so I'm not that upset about it, but hopefully one day I'll graduate to writing original fiction ... or maybe not.

Have you ever read Carrie? That's the writing style I'm mimicking for my NaNo fic and it is ridiculously lol worthy to do.

I love X Factor's scriptedness. It's week five, so it's time for the Lucie Jones Memorial Elimination Controversy! Or, perhaps under the circumstances, "controverC".

Ha!

Ofcom must fucking HATE it though. I wonder if they employ extra temporary staff for this time of year just to sift through all the ridiculous X Factor complaints.

I would imagine that between Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor, Ofcom have a lot of use for Christmas temps...

I'm not really following the X Factor, other than to know someone called Katie's been in the bottom two a lot and a lot of people seem to think she's a bitch. I can imagine there's a lot of selection of songs, running order and staging to favour certain acts over others though, same as BGT.

Strictly's voting system, however, is statistically flawed and gives unfair weighting in certain circumstances. It's unfair both mathematically (assuming - falsely - independence of audience votes and judges decisions) and in how it influences the voters...which is what led to the ridiculous elimination this Sunday. At least the X Factor is transparent enough to release the voting figures after the series - Strictly doesn't, from what I know. < / data nerd >
