Obligatory US!Skins Episode Post
I wanted to post this last night but I watched Pretty Little Liars (OMG, have I mentioned how much I love that show? I LOVE THAT SHOW) straight after Skins and got ~distracted.
Okay, I need to stop having ridiculous expectations about things because this was... not as great as I'd expected/hoped. The acting really does need a LOT of work (although I thought there were moments when Sofia showed potential!) and some of the dialogue was pretty terrible. Combine the two, and it quickly becomes quite cringey. :/
I also really didn't like Nana's ridiculously overwrought monologue of DOOM. OMG, I thought that scene was never going to end.
The Tony/Tea stuff wasn't as bad as I expected, because at least it ended with Tea realising how stupid/wrong/not for her it was, but I really do wish Skins would stay the hell away from having lesbians sleep with boys. It's really unnecessary. I kind of feel like it was really just used as a way to create drama between Tony and Michelle, and that sucks.
Oh, and every time Eura's onscreen I turn into a rabid gen 2 stan. STOP TRYING TO BE EFFY YOU'RE NEVER GOING TO BE EFFY.
THAT SAID, even though there were a million flaws with this episode, I still enjoyed it. Mostly because I already love Tea to an insane degree. Actually, I've realised I'm a massive hypocrite when it comes to this - when male characters have this kind of cocky on the outside/woobie on the inside personality I invariably hate it, and yet I adore Tea and think she's awesome. And super attractive, oh my God.
I'm not convinced by Betty yet; I thought she was pretty boring (which was obviously the point, at least up until the end when she ~surprised everyone) but I guess with a bit more character development I could start to like her. At the moment I'm still shipping Tea/Michelle. IT MUST HAPPEN. PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN.
