For the first time in a while I find myself needing to talk about Doctor Who!

OH SHIT ALL THE AMY/RIVER FIC I'VE EVER READ JUST BECAME INCEST. LOLOLOL. I used to ship it and now I don't think I can; I'm fine with siblingcest but parent/child incest squicks me.

Anyway, the Melody Pond = River Song reveal wasn't a massive surprise, but I like this development! Mostly because River has always been awesome, but the fact that she's PART TIME LORD makes her even cooler. And if she's the girl in the space suit and she killed the Doctor then that lines up with River saying she killed the best man she ever knew, but then... it seemed like River didn't know anything about the little girl in the opener, right? Huh. I guess I'd have to go back and rewatch.

But, anyway, plotty stuff aside - because I really love this series-long arc they've got going, but I'm happy to let it unfold instead of trying to twist my mind into knots to figure it all out - I'm really interested in how this changes the dynamic of Team TARDIS. Even though this series has been really patchy (arc stuff + Gaiman's ep = AWESOME, pirates and flesh eps = RUBBISH), Eleven & Amy & Rory & River are my faaaavourites and I can't wait to see their interaction now they know who River is. I'm anticipating weirdness and lulz and oh, WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT.

IF SHE IS PART TIME LORD, DOES THAT MEAN SHE CAN REGENERATE, IE DOESN'T DIE IN SILENCE IN THE LIBRARY???

I think she can definitely regenerate as the little girl did at the end of Day of the Moon, but I think she still dies in the library. I just rewatched that bit (omg, the more we know River the sadder it gets!) and she said the Doctor wouldn't survive it, so if a full time lord couldn't then I don't see how a part time lord could. :(

I KNOW, but then at the same time I think from a storytelling perspective it's so fucking perfect that I wouldn't want it to be retconned. But just think - she's part time lord, we don't know how old she is, there's SO MUCH in her history that we've yet to learn that it doesn't feel like she's dead at all.

I think the problem with creating River is that now any episodes she's not in seem so fucking pointless. I want Doctor Who to be ALL RIVER ALL THE TIME.

Yeah, I mean, you're right, but I JUST WANT TO SMOOSH THEIR FACES TOGETHER AND WATCH THEM ALL THE TIME. River's the best and this Doctor's the best and and. I HEART THEM.

Amy/River became super gross but I don't get the people that are saying The Doctor and River's relationship is creepy now. Like, creepy how? Just because he and Amy kissed once? Why is that creepy?

Anyway, I'm with you on just being happy to let things unfold instead of trying to figure out where how the whole mess fits together. But waiting so long to get answers is going to be horribly painful. DAMN THIS HIATUS.

I agree, I don't think Doctor/River is creepy. Maybe a bit awkward in a lulzy way, but that's all.

I already hate the hiatus! It's just cruel.

I actual think it's hilarious since his codename for River in the first episode of this series was "Mrs. Robinson"
