:((((((((( THAT IS LIKE MY FAVOURITE THING ABOUT HER. I mean, who else thinks that a pig t-shirt is appropriate attire for a rave? I don't know what the fuck she's got on in that picture, but I'm hoping Katie made her wear it. No other explanation would make sense!

SIGH. You know what I would like next series? For my favourite character to be recognisable. Surely that's not too much to ask?

Honestly, I don't give a fuck about the US version of Skins; I'm too busy worrying that they'll mess up ours.

I liked her hair shorter, but I can see why longer now - gives them more things they can do with it. Panda and the twins got to mess with a lot of looks and show progression in their hair (this shit is important!) over the series. Naomi's got to experiment more with a) being less aggressive and more feminine on one side and b) finding her true sexual and physical identity on the other.

I hope you're right, and they'll put more thought into it than "Lily likes her hair longer so okay". Just from that picture the combination of outfit + hair makes her seem like a completely different person, but it probably won't be like that in the actual episodes.

The thing with Naomi is more than any of the others, she has no idea who she is. It's all frontin' and self-protection and aggression and occasionally letting the guard down - pretending not to care, but always caring too much. The others know, or at least know how they want to be perceived. They have a tribe. Well, apart from Panda, who is in Team Nutso Family. So experimentation with lots of things that are probably very wrong indeed is afoot for both of them. Not wanting to be seen as butch, for example, but then being treated as a glamourpuss doormat would wrongfoot her.

I agree, I think Naomi spent most of series three freaking out because she thought she knew exactly who she was, and then Emily turned everything upside down and made Naomi realise she didn't know herself at all. Although I also think Katie, post-rock incident, will be going through something similar, hence her new darker hair.

This is the first scene of Skins series four? Are they in a nightclub or something? Why would they all be hanging out in a nightclub? Don't half of them loathe each other? I am amused by the very thought of Katie/Emily/Naomi clubbing together.

Agreed that season three Naomi would rather stick her head in an oven than wear something like that. UNLESS this is all an Emily dream sequence, in which case Naomi has on far too many layers.

I think the twins are going to look banging this season. But, oh. I'm so worried they're going to turn Naomi into some emotionally distant harpie *sad face*

Yeah, I... don't understand what the first scene is going to be. Like, at all. And why isn't Effy there? Hopefully it'll make actual sense when we see it instead of it just being like, "here's something Jamie Brittain thought would look cool".

Unpopular fandom opinion: I actually wouldn't mind if they broke them up to have them get back together again. I'd rather we got to see a breakup than have it happen over the summer, but the principle of a breakup doesn't bother me as long as they end the series together.

Exactly. That's when the pessimism started to form. They have so many avenues to throw obstacles in E/N's path. Retracting all of Naomi's growth last season? NOT ONE OF THEM.

I don't know... I think, in order for Naomi/Emily to actually happen, it is entirely poss that they will render Naomi unrecognizable. But I was thinking personality-wise, not in terms of clothing.
