Ugh, busy busy busy. I'm moving house on Friday and packing is basically the most stressful thing ever. I have so much pointless shit! But aside from being all stressed I'm mostly kind of sadfacey about the move, because I grew up here and I can't quite imagine never being able to go back.

As if that wasn't bad enough, it means I'm going to be internetless for about a WEEK. D: Hopefully fandom won't implode while I'm gone.

Oh, thanks for the snowflake cookies, btw! Kind of annoyed that apparently you can't send them any more - I guess that maybe LJ made them free by mistake? Judging by LJ's past record I'd say they're more likely to fuck up than do something selfless and nice. ;)

I love Katie/Emily SO MUCH (probs my third favourite pairing, after Naomi/Emily and Katie/Effy) and there's a crazy amount of subtext, but they're criminally underwritten in fic. IDK if that's because people just don't ship it or they're squicked by it or they feel like they ought to be squicked by it lest Pope Meg smite them, but I'm really interested in people's thoughts. :D

i have very wierd ideas on this kind of thing to be honest...in real life, the idea of kathryn and megan kissing is totally horrible and wrong... but the idea of emily and katie kissing seems totally fine...

i guess thats just my mind saying its fine in fiction but should never never happen irl

I'm not that into Katie/Emily- but the subtext is definitely there. I watched skins three with the best friend two days ago and her jaw dropped when Katie was being all posessive of Emily in episode nine. They're relationship, but reading about a romantic relationship makes me a tad uncomfortable. Check this, though- the minute Naomi is involved I find it more intriguing/ MUCH MUCH hotter. I don't know why- it's just as wrong with Naomi there. I'm not sure how my little mind works.

Oh, and like, I'm seeing a bit of Naomi/Katie around....and I don't get it! E/K makes more sense to me. I wish I did read Naomi/Katie, because they're both sexy as fuck.

Does this mean you'll be writing them in the future? *chin hands*

Anyway, I feel that Katie/Emily should be largely ~unspoken in fanfiction, mostly because it can come across as just sort of crass or disgusting (and this is coming from someone who seriously enjoys (fictional) incest!).

Also, I'll probably get stoned for this, but to go off what rock_whirlpool said, I'm actually not bothered by the idea of Kat and Megan kissing (in FICTION), but to be honest, I don't think I could ever read/write it.

Which is strange, really, because I've read MCR!cest (a friend rec'd it) before and was not at all bothered by it. So, Idek. Maybe I'm lying. Maybe I would read K/M, IF it was written well.

Katie/Emily/Naomi is awesome! I've actually wanted to write Katie/Emily/Naomi (maybe as a triangle, maybe as a threesome) for ages, but for some reason I'm finding it difficult. I'm sure I will at some point, though.

I'm kind of intrigued by the idea of Katie/Naomi but I haven't really read any and I think it would take a really good writer to convince me.

I'm not really sure what you mean by that? Do you mean that fic about them shouldn't be explicit, or that fandom shouldn't talk about it, or something else? (Sorry, I'm really tired and that's making me stupid.)

I would probably read Kat/Meg (and feel kind of horrible about enjoying it) but I don't think I could write it. Mostly because I just don't ship them particularly, on account of them not having that sort of chemistry.

I love it in an OT3 situation. Did I mention I LOVE it an ANY OT3 situation? I don't know - I think because it was partially canon - and, this might sound weird - but it's non-procreative sex. I get totally squicked when a baby could come out of the relationship, which is why I won't read Tony/Effy. *shrugs* Don't know if that makes any sense, but sexuality rarely does.

LOL, the idea of incesty subtext is one of the things that makes me intrigued to watch Skins, as well as the given awesomeness of canon femslash, hee! INCEST. F/f is probably my least favourite kind of sibling incest (I love that I can say that) after m/m and m/f, maybe because it edges slightly closer to the potential of squick for me, especially when they're twins, BUUUT it's still fucking awesome anyway. :D \o/

Parent/child incest is more squicky than sibling for me, but has potential when well handled to be interesting. I did like the occasional good Lucius/Draco back in the old days, for example. :D

Part of why I find it hot is definately the whole "so wrong it's right" thing, but that's not why I like reading it. I do that for their interaction and dynamci, althought this is more in relation to OT3 with Naomi stuff, haven't really read much where it's Katie/Emily only. But I do like that pairing in that larger context of a menage a trois, so it's pretty much the same thing.

As regards real life ... very likely that my opinion is totally down to being an only child, but I wouldn't find it disturbing or anything. Weird, yeah, but I'm generally in the "if it's not forced it's okay" group anyway. Although I do clearly draw the line at generational gaps, that creeps me out for any couple.

Very true! I think there's rarely any rhyme or reason as to why we all have our own kinks/squicks (which is what makes it so interesting!).

Weirdly, I found this really hard to answer. It squicks me, but if writen well it can be stupidly hot. I find the fics I think about days after reading them are Emily/Katie, I guess because there's not as much and it certainly contains more to think about.

When I first heard about incesty fic (Wincest or Twincest in HP or whatever) it was a major squick, but with Emily/Katie they're both just so fucked up, and the canon gave a weird starting point for it all, so it's a little easier to read.

PLUS IT CAN BE STUPID HOT.

I totally get that! One of the other potential incest pairings on the show is Tony/Effy and that's borderline squicky for me because he's two years older than her and it hits a bit close to home. D:
