(no subject)

- I just randomly caught the last half an hour of The Pandorica Opens on BBC3 while I was having dinner, and holy fuck, I think I'd forgotten quite how perfect that episode was. Between that and the amazing Doctor Who/Skins crossover fic I received from [livejournal.com profile] femslash10 and suddenly hugely in the mood for MOAR WHO. Why is it not Christmas yet?? Also, after having watched The Pandorica Opens again I now NEED to rewatch the finale.

- Speaking of [livejournal.com profile] femslash10 (as I was, kind of): the fic I just posted for it was the first thing I'd posted in nearly EIGHT MONTHS. That's terrible! I need to write more, but it's difficult as I'm kind of ~between fandoms~ right now. There are a bunch of shows and ships I'm interested in, but I don't feel like I'm actually IN any particular fandom at the moment. :(

- I love this picture of Gaga:

SHE'S SO CUTE AND SURPRISINGLY NORMAL-LOOKING AND WEARING GLASSES, BE STILL MY HEART. ♥

- Album rec for anyone who likes amazing synth-pop: Happiness by Hurts, album out next week but it's already leaked, of course. So so good, I've been listening to practically nothing else since it leaked. Also, one of their videos features lots of hot women in suits. That's probably relevant to a few people's interests. ;)

- I'm so looking forward to all the American TV shows that are about to start up again. Has anyone heard about any new shows that are meant to be particularly good? I feel like picking up some new ones (you can never have too many fandoms!) but have no idea where to start.

- Work tomorrow, ugh. DNW.

OMG LOOK AT THAT GAGA PIC. ♥ Be still my heart.

I don't know of any new American shows that are going to be good, though I will probably watch a couple of episodes of Hellcats even though it's on CW. I can't pass up teenage lesbians, ofc.

But the only shows I really like are Fringe, Hell's Kitchen, Survivor, and Criminal Minds. Those are all starting in fall. MAYBE I'll watch Outlaw (it has a sweet looking bi girl!), but it looks like a male-dominated show and I try to avoid those when possible.

SHE IS SO PRECIOUS. ♥

Hellcats! I'd forgotten about that. It's probably going to be pretty terrible but no doubt I'll give it a try anyway for the same reasons that you have. Maybe for other new shows I'll just wait and see which ones get the most buzz.

I cannot WAIT for new Fringe, omg. I only just got into recently and I love Olivia Dunham more than is healthy.

HBIC for sure. I love Olivia so much, omg. I am so excited for [livejournal.com profile] apocabigbang to start so I can write my Fringe/Criminal Minds fic. SO. EXCITED.

Have you ever seen Ashes to Ashes? I realize it's over now, but it only just ended this spring and I can't remember if you ever said you'd watched it or not. If you haven't seen it, I seriously recommend you do. There isn't much ~gay~ in it, but the storyline is FANTASTIC and Keeley Hawes is so swoon-worthy.

UNF, THAT GIF. ♥

I haven't seen Ashes to Ashes! It's like a sequel to Life of Mars, right? IDK, I like Keeley Hawes but for some reason they've never appealed to me. Maybe I'll give it a go.

It's sort of a sequel to LoM, yeah. I never saw LoM (I did watch some later, but not all of it). You don't really need to have seen LoM to watch A2A (anything you don't know can easily be found on Wikipedia).

The last episode of A2A may just be the best episode of any show that I have ever seen. IMHO, nothing compares to it. It's just amazing.

It does have a bit of a slow build, but I promise you, by the end of S1 you'll just be dying to see more. It's really engaging and clever. It reminds me a little bit of a grown-up/80s version of Veronica Mars, actually.

Ooh, okay, grown up Veronica Mars has sold it to me. :D

:D! Awesome. Let me know if you need download links.

for it was the first thing I'd posted in nearly EIGHT MONTHS

THAT IS SUPER TERRIBLE. NEVER DO THAT AGAIN.

IKR. I WILL TRY MY BEST.

Dunno if you'll get it there, but there's a show that's called The Glades that I'm really enjoying atm. It's a crime drama, but both the characters and the cases hold my attention and interest me. I like the humour and sarcasm in it especially.

[identity profile] botherd.livejournal.com 2010-09-06 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
I download most of the stuff I watch anyway so I should be able to find it! ;) I've never heard of The Glades but I'll look into it, thanks.

NEED MOAR DOCTOR WHO. TOO LONG WITHOUT AMY POND. DO NOT FUNCTION WELL. The finale of DW was SO GOOD when the Pandorica opens and it's her and it's like WHOA YOU'RE HOT AND AWESOME!

Also, omg Gaga ilu. I just want to hang out with her for an hour. She seems like such a cool person. Been listening to The Fame and The Fame Monster, and omg even though they were only about a year apart, The Fame Monster is a completely different album, and totally better for it.

Not so much a fan on synth pop (too 80s for me), that video? RELEVENT TO MY INTERESTS, INDEED. thanks for the linkage!

The finale was AMAZING. I really hope the quality of the next series stays as high.

I agree that The Fame Monster is a lot different to The Fame, and it makes me excited for the next album - I think her music's progressing really fast, and she's not the sort of person to make the same album twice.

Glad you liked the vid!
