- RL's been busy lately and I feel really out of touch with fandom. I'm way behind on fic and I haven't watched any interviews in ages; have there been any good ones lately? And I feel terrible because I owe people fic and betas. :/ (

- Also, it doesn't help that I'm actually incredibly bitter about Naomi almost certainly not getting her own episode this series. I have a whole rant brewing, but I'll spare you - mainly because I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that she will get episode eight after all. I just wish it was official, you know? (Um, unless it already is, and I've just missed the news.)

- I've been rediscovering Fiona Apple lately. Or, well, mostly I've been listening to Shadowboxer on repeat. That song! ♥

- I've been getting into American Idol this year. \o/ I love stupid shows like this and The X Factor, even when I hate them. My favourite so far is Siobhan, because she's so awesome and weird. I mean, she's a glass-blowing apprentice with a Gashlycrumb Tinies tattoo - what's not to love? Also enjoying Crystal, Didi, Katelyn, and Janell's legs.

Okay, Katie is adorable as ever but it's actually Ollie (specifically, his eyebrow) that I love in that gif. ♥

Sometimes I forget how adorable JJ is! I hope he gets a good episode this series because he hasn't had much to do yet.

Without spoiling anything, episode eight has been confirmed as "Everyone," but it'll essentially be Naomi's episode.

See, that's what I'd heard, and normally I wouldn't mind, but if everyone else gets super-insular episodes where they're in every scene I want her to get one too. Possibly I'm just being an entitled fanbrat!

Nah, it's cool. I mean, I was super pissed at first, but then I realized that I'd rather have a Naomi-centric finale than just a regular episode of her sitting around and moping. *shrugs*

Oh, that's a good point. And to be fair, she has had a fair bit of screentime in all the other episodes so far.

I am agog. I managed to forget it was Thursday, such are my SKY HIGH levels of anticipation.

If it weren't for that brief hint of Katie/Effy in the trailer I would actually contemplate not watching it (at least today, when I'm really tired and could do with an early night). Oh, Funsponge.

I keep forgetting it is going to be on tonight, not the usual Skins excitement feeling.
However, it only has to be a little bit okay for me to be okay with it. After his episode last year Katie has to only say ONE word and it will be better.
Gutted Naomi isn't really having her own episode, just makes the cheating pointless. Last year the final everyone episode was basically Cook so maybe it will be all Naomi with a little clip of the rest.
Im also sad that Panda didnt get one, i loved her episode, i know she isnt the most important but if thomas and freddie get one...

Yeah, if the finale is as Naomi-focused as last year's was Cook-focused, I'll be okay. It still bugs me though. I'm not hugely sad about Panda not getting an episode but I'd much prefer a Panda ep over Freddie, that's for sure.

You know what else bugs? Effy is the only female character who gets two episodes this gen. I mean...I like Thomas but isn't as riveting as Naomi. Freddie is fucking useless. Why do the writers like him so much? I get how the writers can LOVE the other characters but why does Freddie need to be in every ep and have his own episode? WHYYYYY.

Luke has no chemistry with Kaya. At all. Jack and Meg have loads more chemistry with her, it's really clear to me. (I'm not a C/E fan- but based on chemistry alone they make much more sense).

I feel really bad how down on all the het ships. Then again, I did love Jal/Chris, so they CAN do a het ship right. Just....not this generation, it seems.

(Katie/JJ I would have been behind! MAYBE Cook/Katie. Man, Katie has is so shippable it's ridic.)

That bugs me too, that ALL the guys get two episodes and none of the girls do except Effy. And it completely baffles me, because everyone knows that the girls are so much more interesting than the boys this gen.

Katie/JJ would have been AMAZING. Rather than introduce a new love interest for him, they could have made Katie/JJ work and it would have been so much better. Well, okay, I've not actually seen JJ's ep yet, but as a general rule existing characters > new characters.

Siobhan is a freak but in, like, the best possible way. I mean, what chick sings Wicked Games? Seriously. I can't really remember any of the other girls names but there sure are some pretty ones. I do like the hippie one that sang Alanis and rocked the harmonica but I was fairly unimpressed by most of the vocals this week (girls and guys).

What I like about Siobhan is that she's really unpredictable; she could pick any song, and probably make it work. I like Crystal too (hippie chick with the harmonica) but I feel like she needs to change it up a bit. Alanis was kind of an obvious song choice for her. As for the guys, I don't rate any of them.

I hate that they cut the series down by two episodes - I'm sure it was for financial reasons and I get that, but an episode for everyone would be so much better.
