Fuck, I love 6Music. I never used to listen to the radio because they're all full of annoying adverts or obnoxious DJs that aren't nearly as funny as they think they are, but I started listening to 6Music after I heard that they were going to get rid of it and I LOVE it. Lauren Laverne is so awesome.

Anyway, I actually opened up the update window to ask you all a question about your fic preferences. Specifically: how do you feel about fics that switch PoV between two different characters? Does it bug you? I'm not really a big fan of fics that switch PoVs, but I have a fic idea that just might demand it. :/ The problem is, the bulk of it wants to be from character A's perspective, but there are some scenes that would only really work from character B's PoV because character A isn't even involved. What to do??

Oh, WHAT ARE YOU WRITING? *chinhands*

Re: switching POVs. Sometimes a story calls for it! It can be irritating when done seemingly arbitrarily. Sometimes it can make the story feel disjointed, or not cohesive—just a series of interlocking scenes from multiple perspectives. Or, worse, the same scene from multiple perspectives, and never, ever as interesting as Rashomon (the beauty of multiple perspectives is in showing how people in totally different ways, or in introducing an unreliable narrator). It can be done right, though, and I totally trust you can do it.

BIG FAT DISCLAIMER: there is an excellent chance that this fic won't ever get written, so don't get your hopes up or anything. Um, I may be writing Seeker fic for [community profile] ladiesbigbang? This kind of depends on whether the finale completely josses my idea.

I think I'll have to plan it all out before I decide whether to use multiple PoVs. If there are only a couple of scenes that really call for a different PoV I'll probably decide it's not worth it and find other ways to convey the same information.

OH, I am so intrigued! If you need any help with it, or whatever, let me know. I WILL BE YOUR CHEERLEADER. ♥ (And, really, in anything you decide to write, if you don't decide to go ahead with this one. I like reading your stories.)

Oh, dude, thanks! I just might take you up on that offer. ♥
