I think the real winner here is Taylor Hicks, who is officially no longer the worst American Idol ever.

Not remotely surprised that Lee won, even though it's obviously bullshit. I'll be interested to see how they try to reboot the show next year, because they've got to do something to try and get a winner who isn't yet another moderately attractive white guy with a guitar.


Is it just me, or is Poker Face a really weird choice for a mother/daughter duet? I mean, it is quite obviously about fucking. Awkward.

Bad Romance was amazing, though, as was Tina being a vampire.

I posted on a friend's facebook status that Lee has the distinction of being the only idol winner who can't actually sing on key and she got super offended. I'm not gonna judge anybody for liking the tone of his voice (clearly the David Cook/Daughtry/Nickelback sound is popular with a lot of people) but hitting musical notes is a quantifiable, measurable thing and it's a simple fact that the man does not hit the right note a good portion of the time. Try pointing that out to a tone deaf person, though, and it's seen as an insult.

Agreed. In 'Falling Slowly' I could actually see Crystal trying to keep Lee in tune, and only kind of succeeding. The final results made me sad :(

I can see why someone would get all defensive over the favourite, but it's pretty stupid when people try and act like he's not off-key (I have kind of rubbish pitch and even I notice it, so it must be bad), or, worse, that it doesn't matter.
